As a Cybersecurity Administrator, you will play a crucial role in protecting the organization's computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. Your responsibilities will include firewall support, managing security tools, monitoring for suspicious activity, and implementing security controls. Acting as a vital link between the IT departments in the US and Germany, you will address all digital security needs to ensure the safety of the organization's data. This will involve managing the security of the organization’s systems, networks, applications, devices, hardware, and software. In this dynamic position, you will serve as the backbone of cybersecurity for the US within a fast-paced, global organization, collaborating with a global team and implementing global strategies.

You will contribute by:

  • Defending systems against unauthorized access, modification, and destruction.
  • Scanning and assessing the network for vulnerabilities.
  • Monitoring network traffic for unusual activity.
  • Ensuring proper logging and monitoring tools are implemented and configured to detect and alert security events.
  • Responding to security incidents.
  • Configuring and supporting security tools such as firewalls, anti-virus software, and patch management systems.
  • Implementing network security policies, application security measures, access controls, and data safeguards for the organization.
  • Palo Alto Firewall Support: Onboarding new devices, configuring and making changes to IPsec tunnels, altering Prisma routing and tunnels, and updating policy templates in Panorama.
  • Training fellow employees on security awareness and procedures.
  • Collaborating with global teams, including the Information Security Office in Germany, to maintain alignment with corporate security standards.
  • Supporting user access controls and identity governance processes across systems (Identity and Access Management).
  • Participating in the review and coordination of vulnerability assessments, tracking patch management, and remediation efforts.
  • Supporting end-user awareness initiatives and promoting cybersecurity best practices throughout the region.
  • Committing to staying current on emerging threats and evolving security technologies.
  • Enforcing information security policies in collaboration with global and regional teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for is:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience in IT with a cybersecurity focus.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and information security governance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
  • Experience communicating cybersecurity best practices to non-technical and technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP environments and supporting IT infrastructure.
  • A strong understanding of firewall technologies
  • Experience working with Palo Alto Firewalls and routing policies is preferred
  • Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel) and basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of common protocols such as SSL, HTTP, DNS, SMTP, and IPSec
  • Packet shaper, load balancer, and proxy server knowledge
  • Intermediate to expert intrusion detection system/intrusion prevention system knowledge
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including protocols, operating systems, and networks
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Virtual Servers.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are highly valued.
  • Located within driving distance to Urbana, OH facility.
  • Able to work in the US without any current or future sponsorship. 

Physical Requirements:

Requires long durations in both an office setting at a computer and occasional work in manufacturing or warehouse environments. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently throughout the work shift. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at waist level.

Mental Requirements:

Must work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving security threats and business needs. Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of staff and external partners. Ability to translate technical security concepts into business-friendly language. Self-starter with a proactive approach to continuous improvement, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Safety Requirements:

Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required, including safety-toed footwear, safety glasses with side shields, and hearing protection.

Direction & Decision Making:

Complete directives given either verbally or in writing, and support sound, security-focused decision-making processes across teams.

Relationships:

Direct Contacts:Head of IT (US), Head of IT TB Firewall Operations (Germany), Head of TB Security Operations (Germany), IT/MIS colleagues, User Community, and the Information Security Office in Germany.
Indirect Contacts: Other departments and personnel as needed, including vendors and occasional customer contact.

Work Environment:

Split between office settings and plant floor environments. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, and standard manufacturing conditions.
