The primary focus of the Vertical Market Manager – Oil and Gas will be working with segments of the oil and gas market including but not limited to; drilling contractors, production companies, oilfield service companies, oilfield OEM’s, pipeline companies, contractors, distributors, and other potential users of Rittal products. They will assist with the formulation of sales strategies.

In addition, they will develop and maintain contact with key decision makers, represent all Company product lines, and communicate and strategize with the sales team on all related account issues within the assigned customer base. This person will attain and exceed sales goals through increased market share, for both existing and new business, and will be responsible for the development of new business and new customers.

Compensation: Generous Base plus 70/30 commission split

Primary Activities/Duties:
  • Vertical Market Manager (VMM) This position is a business development role. The VMM will be responsible for finding sales and closing sales opportunities in the targeted market.
    • Develop a sales plan that achieves the sales objectives within the target market.
    • Develop, maintain and support relationships at the corporate level with key end users, OEM’s and specifying entities.
    • Develop specifications in alignment with various segments of the vertical and work with EPC/Engineering firms to successfully integrate Rittal into the design specification.
    • Work in close cooperation with Rittal HQ and subsidiaries, and helps develop, execute and drive the key account focus and strategy
  • Possess a broad knowledge of the Oil and Gas Market with ability to identify all areas that Rittal can be used in the various markets Up, Mid and Downstream and the associated revenue
  • Identify projects in respective markets.  Be the driver throughout the entire organization to be sure the sale is closed on the project.  Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Liaison between customers, field applications engineers, product management, entire organization & HQ as it pertains to the vertical market.
  • Responsible for developing, educating, training and growing Rittal Corporation’s customer base. Provide specific support and training/webinar of sales force.
  • Build relationships with executive management in customer base, industry segment associations and consultants to promote brand & products.
  • Attend industry specific tradeshows, conventions and networking events.
  • Manage the procedures within the department to ensure compliance with ISO and company goals and objectives
  • Communicate frequently with all departments to accomplish the above responsibilities
  • Effectively utilizes all tools provided such as the CRM, email, word processing, sales reports, presentations and spreadsheet software, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and five years of experience in industrial equipment/services field sales for a manufacturer and seller of industrial products dealing with direct customers. 
  • Extensive knowledge of oil and gas market, technologies, requirements, applications, government regulations, etc. 
  • Experience managing both local and global projects within the oil and gas industry, understanding how they are awarded and orchestrated within a global organization.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including advanced knowledge and experience with Excel and Power Point. 
  • Strong presentation skills at all levels in an organization, in small and large settings. 
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time.
