Brief Job Summary:
The Production Controller Supervisor oversees the production controlling team to schedule and monitor workflow, manage material movement, and ensure continuous operations throughout the production cycles. This role is responsible for maintaining a smooth, efficient facility while ensuring a safe environment and supporting operational excellence.

Production & Scheduling
- Supervise finite production schedules for the manufacture of industrial or commercial products
- Collaborate with production supervisors to review work progress and communicate changes in processes
- Establish a feedback loop with schedulers and production personnel to resolve schedule-related issues
- Use shop floor control staff to isolate problems and implement preventative systems
- Notify management of work progress, material availability, and potential production issues
- Support daily schedule communication to production departments
- Provide daily schedule performance reporting (Plan vs Output) for assembly and critical fabrication
- Review critical orders and manage escalations affecting the production plan
- Prepare and send the daily Paint Plan and monitor output
- Ensure alignment of raw material picking with established production schedules
- Monitor production progress and update MES (RLGL) with accurate order status
- Summarize daily production status and share updates through appropriate channels
- Support employee development and set clear expectations and goals
- Provide backup coverage for team members as needed
- Participate actively in continuous improvement projects
- Promote a positive, safe, and efficient work environment
- Ensure compliance with all Work Instructions, procedures, and safety policies
- Utilize SAP and related IT tools with proficiency
- Create and supervise finite production schedules and sequence plans
- Align schedules with customer orders and finished goods plans
- Ensure accurate material and resource allocation across production areas
- Support SAP documentation needs including scrap and reproduction
- Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities
- Perform other related duties as needed
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience or education equivalent to 10 years in operations, specifically manufacturing and production control
- Minimum 5+ years of SAP experience
- Proficient in SAP ERP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong understanding of production routings, capacity balancing, and planning processes
- Ability to interpret both verbal and written instructions
- Strong problem-solving and mathematical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Effective professional verbal and written communication
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with stakeholders
- Ability to make logical decisions and contribute to problem-solving initiatives
- Adapts well to fast-paced environments and changing assignments
- Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently throughout the shift
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs to waist level
- Frequently lift 25–40 lbs to waist level and up to 25 lbs above shoulders
- Ability to multi-task and learn various build requirements
- Adaptability to changing assignments
- Effective communication with peers, supervisors, and managers
- Wear safety-toed footwear, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and additional PPE as required
- Follow written and verbal directives
- Make and assist with logical decisions necessary for production continuity
- Direct Contacts: Production Control Manager, Assembly Manager, Team Supervisors, Team Members
- Indirect Contacts: Various departments throughout the Urbana plant
- Warehouse and manufacturing environment
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures as well as dust
