As the Facility Engineering Manager, you will...

Lead the development and execution of long-term facility strategies that support business objectives while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant facility operations. This role is responsible for facility infrastructure, capital projects, preventive maintenance programs, sustainability initiatives, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a long-term facilities strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Manage facility projects from concept and design through implementation, including budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Design, install, and oversee facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, automation, and energy management systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliability and efficiency of facility equipment and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze facility performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
  • Develop and manage facility budgets and capital expenditures.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors, service providers, and vendors.
  • Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to integrate facility solutions into daily operations.
  • Support facility startup, expansion, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of diversified, hands-on experience with new facility startups and facility engineering operations.
  • Experience managing facility infrastructure projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with sheet metal fabrication/manufacturing and engineering professionals preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, automation, and energy management.
  • Strong project management experience with budget development, cost control, and timeline management.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Knowledge of applicable industry regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification required; Black Belt preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work for extended periods on a manufacturing floor and in an office environment.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at waist level.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the production floor.

Safety Requirements

  • Wear safety-toed footwear, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and any additional required PPE.
