Market Development Manager, (Vertical Markets, Food and Beverage) - Remote

As the Market Development Manager, (Food and Beverage), you will focus on driving business through cold calling, pipelining, and closing business through initiatives driven by the Food and Beverage Vertical for Rittal. You will collaborate with Marketing, Inside Sales, Regional AM’s and the VMM to coordinate interrelated projects between the teams and within the constraint of the Food and Beverage Vertical to ensure you successfully hit your targets and goals. You will execute and manage projects within the defined scope. You will be responsible for executing and managing large (multi-million) dollar programs (and/or multiple sub-projects) in the area of the vertical.

Primary Activities/Duties:

  • Educated on key initiatives/drivers of the Vertical and the cause/impact to the organization’s strategies and goals. Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and Plan Projects: Works with VMM to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Assess customer product needs and partner with Rittal’s field sales team to provide full scope of product solutions.
  • Coordination across regions for multi-jurisdictional accounts.
  • Keep management informed by submitting monthly activity-results reports and territory analyses.
  • Help to monitor competitive publications by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, and accounts.
  • Attend networking events and tradeshows.
  • Assist in the development of annual business plan and coordinate its implementation.
  • Keep management apprised of market trends and sales opportunities.
  • Identification of marketing opportunities within vertical for Rittal.
  • Develop contacts within designated focus accounts to drive Rittal brand demand within business.
  • Responsible for KPI metrics of ecosystem accounts and opportunities (CV’s and ops) and driving the right habits with RSM’s where necessary.
  • Takes strategy and leadership/direction from VMM.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Prefer a degree in a technical field such as engineering, business Management or Business Administration.
  • Equivalent sales experience (10+years). Business Development in electrical/automation a plus.
  • Aviation Industry Experience a plus. (Calling on End Users and or companies that are ecosystems as well as Integrators that design/build for all other applications within an F&B that require industrial electrical enclosures and IT racks.)
  • Travel up to 50%.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient and detail oriented with CRM.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional time management, attention to detail, and follow-up skills.
  • High energy, initiative-taking, and goal oriented.
